DMS

This is totally embarrassing, but so hilarious I have to share it with you guys...

I signed up for an online dating site the other night. #shame

Really. Every time that sentence goes through my head I laugh because how insane does that sound??? I signed up for Date My School (which is even MORE embarrassing...) because I read about it and wanted to see a) if anyone I knew at Auburn was on it and b) what it was like.

And honestly, I'm actually kind of enjoying it. It's strangely enjoyable to have random guys message you and wanting to get to know you. DMS is pretty secure, since everyone who signs up has to be verified through their university, plus you can limit the ages of people who can see your profile as well as the amount of information you actually post on your profile. I have it pretty much locked up, so no 50 year old creepers can find me or anything.

The actual site itself is pretty confusing...I've gotten a few messages from some guys and I can't figure out how to message them back (maybe this just means I'm dumb?), and I can't figure out how to search for people at specific schools. The IM function is fine but there are improvements that can be made.

As far as the actual guys...some of them look like complete tools, some of them look like stereotypical nerds, and some of them look like nice normal guys. The one guy I've chatted with a few times is nice and normal (and a lawyer!) which is good.

So. That's one way I'm spending my time these days. I'll definitely keep y'all updated on my progress...

    1. I find it both embarrassing and not, but it's not something I'm planning on actually bringing up in conversation in real life with anyone...
