Monday Inspiration

"Overwhelmed" is definitely an understatement about how I feel right now. I have a wedding on Saturday, work two days this week, and somewhere in there, I have to go through all of my things and figure out what I can't possibly live without so I can pack it up in preparation for my move next week. So. Much. To. Do. And that's not even the end...

The quote above was something I pinned a while back and it really hit home for me yesterday. All of this stress and uncertainty and busyness is because of something really, really great: I'm starting a job I love and am really excited for.

I'm also taking this little quote to heart right now. Once I get through two days of work, I can concentrate on packing. Once I attend the wedding, I can focus more on enjoying my last few days with family. Once I finally get to Atlanta, I can focus on finding somewhere to live. Once I have somewhere to live, I can start looking for furniture. Baby steps.

And of course, this whole thing is a huge, scary, exciting adventure that's going to be totally worth it in the end. What adventures are you starting?

Life...

So. I had a whole post written, scheduled and ready to go for today because I had planned on leaving for Auburn/Charleston this morning...until I got in a car accident last night on my way home from work. I'm fine, but my car isn't, so I've canceled my trip which meant scrapping the cute little road trip post I had all done.

Lately things have been all over the place and insane. Short summary: planned this apartment-hunting trip to Charleston last weekend, had three interviews last week, ended up getting one part-time job last week and started today, got in the accident, canceled my trip, and am still waiting to hear back about the results of the other two interviews I had.

So that's what's going on with me! Lots of possibilities, nothing totally definite and concrete. I'm getting to the point where I'm just tired of waiting around for things to happen and I might just need to be totally bold and take huge risks to get where I want to be...which is so scary for a planner/calculater/not-risk-taker like me!

Thankfulness and Inspiration

If you took the time out of your day to read my unedited, heart-to head-to hands post yesterday and aren't ready to quit reading this little bloggie of mine due to my general lack of knowing what the heck I'm doing, or if you thought 'man that girl needs a) some advice, b) a hug, c) spiritual guidance, d) all of the above' and gave me any of that, just know that I am infinitely appreciative and blessed by all of it and y'all and that I'm giving you all hugs through my screen.

Anyway. I'm obviously still mulling things over and thinking things through and talking them out and trying to figure out what to do, so here are a few little quotes that are on my mind.

New Year's Eve!

Hey y'all! I hope you all had a great Christmas, I definitely did. It's been nice to be forced to take a few days off from job searching and just enjoy the season. A mini vacation, if you will.

Now that Christmas is over, it's time to focus on ringing in 2013! I've already posted my resolutions for the year, but I'm thinking about turning them into a list of goals/things I want to do during the year and updating them regularly--kind of like Mackenzie's 101 in 1001 list.

As for celebrating the holiday, I'm heading to San Antonio to celebrate with two very dear friends and sorority sisters! I am so excited!! I haven't seen these girls since this summer and it's going to be so great to catch up on everything. My sister and her husband will also be in town starting tomorrow and I'm thrilled to see them as well.

What Kate Likes: Inspiration (part 2!)

For me, this time of year is always kind of dreary. It's cold, it's close enough to the holidays that school/work isn't interesting anymore, the last break was too long ago, there's tons of work to be done...basically this time of year just kind of sucks. The only bright spot is that Starbucks has their holiday menu out (I'm totally drinking a peppermint mocha right now).

If you're like me, you could probably use a little inspiration to make that final push through exams. If you're not like me, well, when has a little extra inspiration ever been a bad thing?

What Kate Likes: Inspiration

One of my most followed Pinterest boards is my "Words I Love." board. The second is food, but that's another post in itself. Anyway, I started out just pinning or repinning quotes that spoke to me or I wanted to remember...and since I can't think coherently to write a real post today, I'm compiling a few quotes that I'm holding close to my heart and in my mind lately. Some are funny, some are spiritual, some are purely inspirational (and kind of cheesy...), but all of them are totally relevant right this second.
